This weekend at the Grammys Blake Shelton faces off against his wife Miranda Lambert in the same category. After an impressive year, both have been nominated for best country solo performance: Blake for his song “Mine Would Be You,” and Miranda for “Mama’s Broken Heart.” With so much competition and talent happening in one family, we have to ask: Who does more charity?
+ Blake Shelton Draws a Crowd
It’s no secret that Blake has a big heart when it comes to helping others. Blake has supported the USO and is an ambassador for JCP Cares. The USO is a non-for-profit whose mission is to lift the spirits of men and women who serve in the armed forces with recreational type activities whether it be a concert or a USO Tour. But what Blake really excels at is putting together celebrity packed charity concerts. In 2011, he hosted two shows that raised over $500,000 for tornado victims and he followed it up this year with the Healing in the Heartland relief benefit concert for Oklahoma City tornado victims.
+ Miranda Lambert Helps Out All Over
Not to be outdone by her hubby Blake, Miranda also has a huge heart when it comes to helping others in need. Over the past few years, she has been tied to seven different charities including the American Humane Association, Clothes Off Our Backs, Heroes in Heels, Musicians on Call and Wish Upon a Hero Foundation just to name a few. Nevertheless, Miranda doesn’t just stop there she also worked for Blake’s Healing in the Heartland concert.
So when it comes to big hearts in country music, it’ll be hard to find a couple that can give back as much as Miranda and Blake. Now which of the two of them has a bigger heart to give back? That’s a question you weigh in on and tell us what you think.
The mission of American Humane Association is to ensure the welfare, wellness and well-being of children and animals.
